THANKSGIVING NOTES

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt. I Thessalonians 5:17

After the Israelites heard the report from the twelve men who had explored Canaan, the people cried all night and complained to Moses and Aaron, “We wish we had died in Egypt or somewhere out here in the desert! Is the LORDleading us into Canaan, just to have us killed and our women and children captured? We'd be better off in Egypt.” Then they said to one another, “Let's choose our own leader and go back.” Moses and Aaron bowed down to pray in front of the crowd. Joshua and Caleb tore their clothes in sorrow and said: We saw the land ourselves, and it's very good. If we obey the LORD, he will surely give us that land rich with milk and honey. So don't rebel. We have no reason to be afraid of the people who live there. The LORDis on our side, and they won't stand a chance against us! The crowd threatened to stone Moses and Aaron to death. But just then, the LORDappeared in a cloud at the sacred tent. The LORDsaid to Moses, “I have done great things for these people, and they still reject me by refusing to believe in my power.

  1. THANKFUL PEOPLE DEFAULT TO POSITIVE

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7

  1. THANKFUL PEOPLE ARE CONSTANTLY THANKFUL

Tell the LORD how thankfulyou are, because he is kind and always merciful. Psalm 118:1,

Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous, and give thanks to his holy name! Psalm 97:12

Give thanksto the LORD for his unfailing loveand his wonderful deedsfor mankind, Psalm 107:8,

I will thankthe LORD because he is just;I will sing praiseto the name of the LORD Most High. Psalm 7:17

I will give you thanks because you are good. Psalm 54:6

I will give thanksto you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and rejoicein you; I will sing the praisesof your name, O Most High. Psalm 9:1

III. THANKFUL PEOPLE ENDURE

But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God.Then the officials went together to Daniel’s house and found him praying and asking for God’s help.12 So they went straight to the king and reminded him about his law. “Did you not sign a law that for the next thirty days any person who prays to anyone, divine or human—except to you, Your Majesty—will be thrown into the den of lions?”

You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. II Tim 3

"I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. John 11:25

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. "Hebrews 13:5

Since we have a Kingdom nothing can destroy, let us please God by serving him with thankful hearts Hebrews 12:28
