I Samuel 7

STEPS TO RESTORING YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.

1. They returned to the Lord with their whole heart.

Then all the people of Israel turned back to the Lord. Vs 2

"Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; Acts 3:19

2. They repented with fasting and prayer. 

On that day they fasted and there they confessed, “We have sinned against the Lord.” Vs 6

"Even now," declares the LORD, "return to me with all your heart,with fasting and weeping and mourning."Joel 2:12....

I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentanceand have faith in our Lord Jesus. Acts 20:21

3. They were rescued from the hand of their enemy. 

“Do not stop crying out to the Lord our God for us, that he may rescue us from the hand of the Philistines.” Vs 8

That day the Lord thundered with loud thunder against the Philistines and threw them into such a panic that they were routed before the Israelites. Vs 10

He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. 18 They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the LORD was my support. Psalm 18

4. Their land was restored and they had peace.

The towns from Ekron to Gath that the Philistines had captured from Israel were restored to Israel… and there was peace between Israel and the Amorites. Vs 14

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Isaiah 26:3

When a man's ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. Proverbs 16:7

After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before. Job 42:10

For we are glad when we are weak and you are strong. Your restoration is what we pray for. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you 2 Corinthians 13:9,13

“Restore us, O Lord, and bring us back to you again!” Lamentations 5:21

“Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you” Psalm 51:12

But this is a people plundered and looted; they are all of them trapped in holes and hidden in prisons; they have become plunder with none to rescue, spoil with none to say, “Restore!” Isaiah 42:22

But let your hand be on the man of your right hand, the son of man whom you have made strong for yourself! 18 Then we shall not turn back from you; give us life, and we will call upon your name! 19 Restore us, O Lord God of hosts! Let your face shine, that we may be saved! Psalm 80

So he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty. Zechariah 4:6
